We are all very proud of our school and the children who work hard in order to achieve well.
Our aim at Pondhu is to provide a rich and balanced curriculum that challenges every learner. Our staff are passionate about getting the very best out of every child ensuring that we maximise every learning opportunity.
Our school is a positive, exciting learning environment whereby our children are enthused about their learning. We provide opportunities for our children to take risks and challenge themselves in their thinking as well as in their actions.
Pondhu is rapidly raising standards and expectations. Staff constantly seek to improve their practice and in doing so provide your children with the best opportunities to progress in their learning. Pondhu is a unique and special school with the children at its heart. We create lasting memories for our children and ensure that their learning journey is enjoyable and rewarding.

KS2 Sports Day Cancelled Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's KS2 Sports Day. Following the persistent rain throughout today, the field has become too wet and unsafe for the event to take place. While we know how much the children have been looking forward to the day, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, families and staff must come first. We are very disappointed to have to make this decision and appreciate your understanding. Year 6 Ice Cream Sale Year 6 will still be selling ice creams at the end of the school day tomorrow for £1 each, so please do bring some change if you would like to support them.

EYFS & KS1 Sports Day Cancelled Unfortunately, due to the wet weather and forecast rain, we have made the difficult decision to cancel today's EYFS and KS1 Sports Day. The safety and wellbeing of our children, families and staff must come first, and the field conditions are not suitable for the event to go ahead. We know how much the children have been looking forward to taking part and we are very disappointed to have to make this decision. We will share information about any rearranged date as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

ICE CREAM SALE! Our fantastic Year 6 pupils will be selling ice creams for just £1 each at the end of our Sports Afternoons this week! KS1 Sports Afternoon – Thursday KS2 Sports Afternoon – Friday Bring along some change and treat yourself while supporting our Year 6 children. All proceeds will go towards Year 6 trip to Camel Creek. Our Reception children had a fantastic time trying woodwork for the very first time this week! They learned how to safely use screwdrivers, hammers, nails and screws, showing great determination and concentration throughout. Woodwork is a wonderful way to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and confidence, and the children worked incredibly hard as they explored these new tools and techniques. We are so impressed with their enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills. We look forward to continuing to develop our woodwork skills on our new woodwork bench in the weeks ahead!
