Year 4 - Cober

Welcome to Year 4 - River Cober.

The class teacher is Mrs Jolliff.
Our HLTA is Ms Vigor.  Our teaching assistants are Mrs Menear and Miss Datson.

Our topic this term is 'The Romans'.  We are excited to learn about the Roman Empire and leaders such as Julius Caeser.  We want to investigate how the empire spread and when the Romans invaded Britain.  In art, we are going to examine mosaics and develop our techniques to design and create our own.  We would like to look at how the Romans lived-what they ate, their houses, schools and their daily lives.
We like to practice times tables.  We want to do our very best in our times tables check this summer.  Click on this link for a great game!

You can also practise your maths skills on Sumdog each day.

We are enjoying reading one of our 'Favourite Five' books-The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe written by C.S Lewis.  We all look forward to finding out what is going to happen in the mysterious and snowy place that the children find at the back of the wardrobe.
These are our amazing lighthouses that we designed and made last term as part of our topic of 'Mountain to Sea' combined with our science topic of 'Electricity'.  We researched lighthouse designs from around the world and ones from in the past and then made our design criteria.  We created circuits to include a switch so that we could turn the light on and off.  We were really proud of our creations.
