Internet Safety Day
Tuesday 11th February 2020
We have been thinking about the different ways that we can stay safe on the internet. Lots of us use tablets at home, so we talked about how we can use the internet on tablets sensibly and safely. We listened to and discussed the book Buddy the Dog's Internet Safety Story.
We learnt that it is important to:
Speak to a grown-up if something pops up onto the screen that we are not sure about
Ask a grown-up before watching videos on the internet
Make sure that we know who we are talking to before sending messages online
Remember to be kind to others when using the internet
Don't download apps without asking a grown-up first.
We learnt a song about staying safe when using the internet. You can watch it below!
North to South
We have been learning all about the Polar Regions and the rainforests during our 'North to South' topic.
We have used maps and atlases to explore the cold and warm parts of our earth. We are really interested in the Arctic.
Can you remember the names of any animals that live there?
What is the climate like?
Do people live in the Arctic? What do you know about them?
You can find out more about Arctic animals by clicking on the link below.
We have been learning about the things we can do to stay healthy and recently made some fruit smoothies by following a set of instructions. Can you remember which ingredients we used and what we had to do?
We recently visited Holy Trinity Church in St. Austell to find out more about why the Church is a special place for Christians.
We spotted lots of special features in the Church and learnt more about why they are there and how they are used. Can you remember their names?
We love Trailblazing! We go on a Friday. Here are some photographs of us learning about and enjoying our wonderful school grounds.
