Outdoor learning
River Tiddy love doing their learning outside! Here are some recent photos of what we have been enjoying during playful learning time.
Christmas biscuits
We have made Christmas biscuits for the parents to eat at our Christmas Cafe. We talked about why we need to clean our hands before cooking and preparing food and then we used the equipment safely to create our biscuits. Once they were cooked, we decorated them with icing and sweets!
We have been learning all about Autumn.
We went for a walk within our school grounds to see if we could find any signs of Autumn. The children found coloured leaves, pine cones, conkers and acorns that had all fallen from the trees. They had great fun exploring the woods and talking about their findings! We also did some leaf rubbings using the leaves that we had found.
Don't forget to login to Interactive Learning Diary to see more of your child's learning. You can also add your own observations and photos to let us know about your child's learning at home too.
Our current topic is Superheroes and the children have particularly enjoyed the story Supertato. They have even made their own super fruit and vegetables!
Science Day!
On Friday 20th October we had Science Day. The children moved around the school completing various scientific experiments based on stories such as The Lorax and The Gingerbread Man. The children were encouraged to make predictions, do some tests and then talk about the results. We learnt about processes such as water pollution and filtering as well as making boats and testing them in the water.
Torchlight Carnival
We have been making lanterns for the Torchlight Carnival which is taking place on Saturday 18th November. We worked together with Year 5 to make our lanterns.
We like to play lots of phonics games at school to practice reading and writing. Here is a link to a website that we often use: Phonics Play
